Virgin Atlantic has once again graced the skies of Dubai, marking its grand return since its last flight to the UAE in 2019.
Kicking off a four-weekly service from the iconic London Heathrow (LHR/EGLL) on 30th October, the esteemed dnata ground handling team warmly received the inaugural flight.
The airline chose the advanced Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner to operate this revived route.
Liezl Gericke, Virgin Atlantic’s Head of International, expressed her enthusiasm, stating: “Dubai has always held a special place in our hearts. The time finally feels right to reintroduce this beloved route, much to the joy of our patrons. Whether it’s an exciting new location or a comeback of a cherished one, it’s these moments that make us truly feel alive.”
“We eagerly await our returning and new passengers. Be it for work, leisure, or reunions with loved ones in the UK, we’re here to make the journey unforgettable,” she added.
Echoing the sentiment, Jaffar Dawood, dnata’s Senior Vice President of Airport Operations for the UAE and MEA, said, “The return of Virgin Atlantic to Dubai International marks an exciting phase. With Dubai emerging as the top winter sun destination, we are ready and thrilled to collaborate with the airline’s local team to ensure travellers have an unparalleled airport experience.”
For those elite passengers under Virgin Atlantic’s SkyTeam membership, the marhaba-operated SkyTeam lounge at Dubai airport awaits to elevate their travel experience.
